Quality Control

Engineered From The Start

At Tarmal Steel Wire Products, quality is built into every stage of production. Our dedicated Quality Control and Mechanical Testing Laboratory ensures that every Rebar and Wire Product meets the highest standards required not only in Kenya, but across East Africa.

Trusted by Builders, Engineers, and Industries across East Africa.
01Mechanical Testing

Mechanical Testing Laboratory

All PowerSteel TMT rebars ranging from 8mm to 25mm undergo rigorous physical and mechanical testing in our in-house mechanical lab.

8mm 10mm 12mm 16mm 20mm 25mm
Physical Checks Include
Rib size measurement
Rib spacing verification
Dimensional accuracy and surface inspection
Each sample is carefully marked and prepared before testing.

02UTM

Universal Testing Machine (UTM)

Our Universal Testing Machine (UTM) is used to evaluate the core mechanical properties of the steel we produce.

Tests Conducted
Tensile strength Maximum load before fracture
Yield stress Where permanent deformation begins
Percentage elongation How far the bar stretches before failure
Bend and re-bend tests Ductility under repeated bending
These tests ensure that every bar delivers the required strength, flexibility, and durability expected from premium structural steel.

03Quality Assurance

Wire & Galvanizing Processes

Our Quality Assurance Department monitors multiple in-process checks, especially for wire products.

Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) A protective zinc layer, applied in stages

Is a multi-stage process that coats the wire with a protective zinc layer to prevent corrosion.

In-Process Quality Analysis
Titration tests
Metal stripping tests
Coating thickness verification per unit area
These ensure uniform coating and long-term performance.

Wire Strength & Performance Testing

At Tarmal Steel, we manufacture annealed and galvanized wires that meet strict performance parameters.

Parameters Tested
Yield strength Elastic limit of the wire
Tensile strength Load carried before breaking
Elongation Stretch before fracture
Batch compliance Checked before market release
Every batch is tested to confirm it complies with required standards before reaching the market.

Our Commitment

All checks, tests, and verifications are conducted in-house with precision and consistency.

This is how we ensure that every product leaving Tarmal Steel reflects reliability, safety, and long-term performance.

Because quality isn't inspected at the end — it's engineered from the start.
